  • Hands Are Tied

Hands Are Tied naturally highlights such topics as how our beliefs influence our actions (i.e. thinking we CAN'T do something usually leads to that conclusion), having patience and working together. If you really want to get your group to start thinking in the positive and challenge their beliefs around what they can and can't do, this is a great eye opening experience.

How This Activity Could Be Used

    • Ice-breaker: Start tough discussions off on the right foot with a little fun before the session.
    • "Neu-robic" or Brain Exercise: Get creative juices flowing with this creative puzzle.
    • "Thinking Outside the Box" Tool: This activity requires individuals and teams to look beyond the obvious. What appears to be a simple challenge turns out to be much more complex because participants go to what appears to be the simple solution. Individuals quickly learn that to solve the problem requires a little more creativity.
    • Trust Exercise: Because participants hold the solution to the problem in their hands, they can begin to explore areas where, if they were to "let go" and trust themselves, they may be able to solve many of the challenges in their path.

This activity is a great introduction to a workshop, session or course on communication, leadership or teamwork.
